Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced moments ago that Antigua and Barbuda will offer free university education from September 2026.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Initially, it was promised that free university education for all Antiguans and Barbudans would commence following the expansion of the campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Browne said on Pointe FM that, after discussions with the Financial Secretary, free tertiary education at the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus will now begin this year.<\/p>

The Prime Minister added that Antiguans and Barbudans will be able to pursue several degrees locally, included a law degree, free of cost.<\/p>

He hinted that several initiatives to target free education at all levels will be explored in more detail in the party’s manifesto to be launched next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
