In a message following the announcement, Peters thanked the organizers for the recognition and described the moment as a proud one for both her and Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am truly honored to have received this award,\u201d she said, adding that she wished she could have been there in person to celebrate alongside other \u201cbeautiful, strong, powerful women.\u201d<\/p>

The award forms part of the Caribbean and African Women of Impact Honors, which recognizes women making significant contributions across culture, leadership and community.<\/p>
