The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda has announced that applications are now open for a regional internship programme offered by the Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean, targeting young professionals across the Caribbean.<\/p>

The Ministry said the programme is open to young diplomats, early-career professionals, and graduate or postgraduate students, and is designed to provide practical, on-the-job training in international relations, international law, political science, translation, and information technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five-month internship will run from July 1 to November 27, 2026, in Mexico City. Selected candidates will receive a monthly allowance of US$1,200 and round-trip airfare. However, interns will be responsible for securing their own accommodation, meeting immigration requirements set by the Mexican government, and obtaining medical insurance coverage.<\/p>

According to OPANAL, the programme forms part of broader efforts to strengthen engagement with Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member states and to support education in nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.<\/p>

Interested applicants must submit their documents via email to Alyssa.Weste@ab.gov.ag, with Claxton.Duberry@ab.gov.ag copied, by June 4, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications must include a curriculum vitae (maximum two pages), a statement of purpose (maximum one page), certified copies of university transcripts, a letter of endorsement from the applicant\u2019s academic institution or Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and proof of enrollment in a health insurance plan.<\/p>

Interns will be expected to assist with research, report writing, translation, meeting preparation, and documentation management during the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
