Independent candidates have entered the race in several constituencies as a full slate of nominees was confirmed following the close of nominations for Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s April 30 general election.<\/p>

Three independent candidates are contesting seats, including Debbie Pero Weston in St. George<\/strong>, Alan Weston in St. Paul<\/strong>, and Nigel Bascus in St. John\u2019s Rural West<\/strong>, creating multi-candidate races in those constituencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the country, most constituencies remain dominated by contests between the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) and the United Progressive Party (UPP), with one Barbuda People\u2019s Movement (BPM) candidate also in the field.<\/p>

In Barbuda<\/strong>, ABLP candidate Kendra Beazer will face BPM\u2019s Trevor Walker.<\/p>

The St. George<\/strong> constituency will see a three-way contest among ABLP\u2019s Michael Freeland<\/strong>, UPP\u2019s Kelton Dalso,<\/strong> and independent Debbie Pero Georges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the capital, St. John\u2019s City West<\/strong> features ABLP leader Gaston Browne against UPP candidate Alister Thomas, while St. John\u2019s City South<\/strong> pits ABLP\u2019s Steadroy \u201cCutie\u201d Benjamin against UPP\u2019s Adrian Williams.<\/p>

In St. John\u2019s City East<\/strong>, ABLP\u2019s Melford Nicholas will face UPP\u2019s Pearl Quinn-Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In St. John\u2019s Rural South<\/strong>, Daryll Matthew (ABLP) will contest against Emanuel Peters (UPP), while St. John\u2019s Rural East<\/strong> features ABLP\u2019 and UPP race.<\/p>

A three-way race is also confirmed in St. John\u2019s Rural West<\/strong>, while St. John\u2019s Rural North<\/strong> pits Henry Charles Fernandez (ABLP) against Malaka Parker<\/p>

In St. Mary\u2019s North<\/strong>, Dr. Philmore Benjamin (ABLP) will face Jonathan Joseph (UPP), and in St. Mary\u2019s South<\/strong>, Dwayne George (ABLP) will contest against Kelvin Simon (UPP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The All Saints East and St. Luke<\/strong> constituency will see Lamin Newton James (ABLP) go up against Jamal Pringle (UPP), while All Saints West<\/strong> features ABLP\u2019s Anthony Smith Jr. against UPP\u2019s Harold Lovell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In St. Peter<\/strong>, Rawdon Turner (ABLP) will face George Wehner Weste (UPP), while St. Philip North<\/strong> and St. Philip South<\/strong> also feature direct contests between the two major parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And 3-way race in St. Paul against Weston, EP Chet Greene of the ABLP and UPP’s Franz deFreitas <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All nominations were made under the Representation of the People Act, confirming the candidates eligible to contest seats in the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antigua and Barbuda is scheduled to go to the polls on April 30.<\/p>\n
