Cabinet Approves Commissioning of Warri Boards for Schools Under National Cultural Heritage Initiative<\/strong>

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has approved the commissioning of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) Warri boards for distribution to schools across the country, as part of the Government\u2019s National Intangible Cultural Heritage Initiative.

This decision underscores the Government\u2019s ongoing commitment to preserving, promoting, and institutionalizing Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s rich cultural heritage, while simultaneously enhancing educational outcomes for students.

Warri, a traditional African-derived board game deeply rooted in Caribbean history, forms an integral part of the nation\u2019s cultural identity. Its introduction into schools is intended to foster greater cultural awareness and appreciation among students, encourage intergenerational knowledge transfer, and support cognitive development through strategic gameplay.

The initiative will see Warri integrated into the formal education system, helping to reinforce critical thinking, numeracy skills, and strategic planning among young learners.
