Public servants in Antigua and Barbuda are expected to receive all outstanding back pay by the end of April, as the government moves into the final phase of disbursements.<\/p>

The Treasury Department said payments are already in progress, with some ministries fully settled from April 2 and another round due by April 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retroactive payments stem from union agreements that led to salary increases and improved benefits, covering mainly 2019 to 2023 after adjustments took effect in January 2024.<\/p>

Most public sector workers employed up to December 31, 2023 qualify, along with some former employees, while officials such as parliamentarians, ministers and judges are excluded.<\/p>

All payments are being made by direct bank transfer with no taxes deducted, including any outstanding balances owed to workers who previously received partial sums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
