Nomination Day for the General Elections in Antigua and Barbuda will take place on Monday 13th April 2026 from 8am to 6pm<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Candidates are eligible to be nominated once they are 21 years or older and must be a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda who has been residing in the country for at least one year prior to the election. Candidates must be proficient in the English language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nomination paper shall state the full names, place of residence and the description of the candidate and the surname shall be placed first in the list of names.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Returning Officer oversees the nomination process and an individual who is nominated must consent to his or her nomination in writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nomination paper shall be subscribed by two electors a proposer, seconder and eight other electors all registered in the Constituency, in the presence of the returning officer.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Once they have satisfied the guidelines of completing the nomination paper and have deposited the requisite $500 EC fee, they are eligible to be nominated as a candidate.<\/p>

The names of the nominated candidates are published in the media.<\/p>\n
