St Mary\u2019s South MP Kelvin \u201cShugy\u201d Simon has welcomed the installation of lighting at the Bolans playing field, describing it as a long-awaited improvement for the community after years of advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simon shared the update from the site, where work is currently underway, expressing satisfaction that the project is finally being realised.<\/p>

\u201cAfter years of advocacy for our lights to be installed, the guys are here installing them,\u201d he said, adding that residents are already responding positively to the development.<\/p>

The addition of lighting is expected to allow teams to host matches within the community once again, rather than travelling elsewhere to play home games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is all we needed to be able to come and watch the guys play\u2026 in our community,\u201d Simon said.<\/p>

He said the improvement would help rebuild local support for teams, with supporters now able to attend games more easily and consistently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simon also pointed to what he described as \u201crelentless advocacy\u201d on behalf of residents as a key factor behind the progress, noting that the development reflects ongoing efforts to improve community infrastructure.<\/p>
