Speculation is rife that former United Progressive Party candidate Dr. Philmore Benjamin is poised to replace long-serving MP Sir Molwyn Joseph as the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party candidate for St. Mary\u2019s North.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it true that Sir Molwyn may be ready to call it quits, with an announcement expected within days?<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

While names like Winston Williams and others have been put forward, the prevailing view within the ABLP camp is that Dr. Benjamin\u2014who joined the party last year during the mass exodus from the UPP\u2014is the heir apparent to the ABLP ticket.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Whether that is true or not, what is clear is that a general election in Antigua and Barbuda is imminent, with some suggesting it could come as early as April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahead of this possible change, do you think Dr. Benjamin is a good choice? After all, Sir Molwyn has served well and appears to have at least one more term left in him. However, Dr. Benjamin\u2019s candidacy may be a strategic move.<\/p>
