A 48-year-old Canadian woman has been remanded in custody after authorities seized more than 67 pounds of cannabis from her luggage at the airport.<\/p>

Roselynee Crisostomo was intercepted by officers after arriving on Air Canada flight AC1832 from Toronto on 10 March during a joint drug interdiction operation involving the Narcotics Department, Special Services Unit, K-9 Unit and Customs Enforcement Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said 61 vacuum-sealed packages of cannabis were discovered inside two suitcases. The drugs are estimated to have a street value of about EC$536,000.<\/p>

Crisostomo has been charged with drug trafficking, importation of cannabis, possession of cannabis, possession with intent to transfer, and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.<\/p>

When she appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Thursday, prosecutors argued successfully that she should be denied bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court ruled that she posed a flight risk as she has no known ties to Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

She was remanded into custody and is due to return to court on 13 May 2026.<\/p>\n
