A High Court judge has sentenced Damien Joseph to six years in prison for opening fire on a man driving along High Street in 2022.<\/p>

Justice Ann Marie Smith found Joseph guilty of shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in connection with the May 30 incident. Joseph was unrepresented when his judge-only trial began last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court heard that Kelvin Constant was driving his pickup truck along High Street around 7:30 p.m. when he saw Joseph and his cousin walking toward him. <\/p>

As they approached the vehicle, Joseph raised a firearm and fired at the lower section of the windscreen. <\/p>

The shot shattered a speaker tweeter inside the truck and narrowly missed Constant. The bullet was later recovered from the vehicle\u2019s cabin.<\/p>\n
