The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority<\/p>

(ABAA) has officially launched a new and expanded car rental and tour operator hub,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with the goal to improve the visitor arrival experience and offer taxi and tour operators a centralised location to better serve travelers from the VC Bird International<\/p>

The old terminal\u2014now called Terminal B\u2014has been undergoing renovations to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

transform the area into a modern, organised hub improving ground transportation<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

experience for all arriving passengers to Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Permanent Secretary Sean<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cenac delivered remarks on behalf of the Minister, the Hon. Charles Fernandez, at an opening ceremony of the new facilities on Thursday.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cenac noted that the event was more than<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the physical refurbishment of the old terminal, it represented the government\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

commitment to strengthen the visitor experience from the very moment our guests arrive on our shores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs tourism continues to be a primary driver of our national economy, supporting<\/p>\n\n\n\n

employment, entrepreneurship, and foreign exchange earnings, investments such as this are critical,\u201d Cenac said, adding that this opening will \u201creinforce our ability to provide<\/p>\n\n\n\n

seamless service, encourage longer stays, and inspire repeat visits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cenac emphasized that having an efficient and modern infrastructure are essential to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

maintaining Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s reputation as a premier destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABAA Interim CEO Miguel Southwell explained that the new facility will house four car rental companies, Bigs Car Rental, TG Car Rental, RL Car Rental, and Chase Car<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rental, with a combined fleet of 315 vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nine tour operators and Destination Management Companies (DMCs) are also<\/p>\n\n\n\n

accommodated in the space, consolidating ground transportation services that were<\/p>\n\n\n\n

previously scattered and congested throughout the terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The refurbished building will also feature a live flight information display system,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

allowing persons to monitor flight statuses in real time. The Public Address system,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

already operational in the current terminal, will extend its announcements into the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

refurbished facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A representativefrom TG car rental who spoke on behalf of the car rental operators, Shakkia Carlos, described the occasion as a symbol of \u201ccontinued growth, collaboration, and a commitment to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was delivered through the combined efforts of the ABAA Board of Directors, chaired by Rolston Potter, Business Development Manager Geneva George, who served as co-project manager,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director of Operations Joseph Samuel,and Maintenance Manager Orlan Hurst, who spearheaded the constructionteam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also providing crucial support were the Airport Authority\u2019s IT department and the members of its Accounts department<\/p>\n
