The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) is pleased to announce a significant expansion of its human resource capacity with the employment of eighteen (18) additional staff members across several key departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strategic increase in personnel forms part of the Commission\u2019s ongoing commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening institutional capacity, and delivering the highest standards of electoral administration to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

The newly appointed staff members have been assigned to various departments including Voter Registration and Administrative Support. Their recruitment reflects the Commission\u2019s proactive approach to meeting the growing demands of electoral management, improving service delivery, and ensuring readiness for future electoral activities.<\/p>

Supervisor of Elections, Mr. Ian S Hughes, noted that the expansion represents a forward-looking investment in the integrity and a step towards further modernization of the electoral system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe strengthening of our human resources is a critical step in ensuring that the Commission continues to operate with transparency, efficiency, and professionalism. As the electoral landscape evolves, it is imperative that we build a resilient and capable team to support our mandate.\u201d<\/p>

ABEC\u2019s Chairman, Mr. Arthur Thomas, in welcoming the new staff, emphasized the importance of professionalism, integrity, and strict confidentiality in the discharge of their duties. He encouraged them to pursue continuous career development, maintain proper deportment, and demonstrate respect for the public and for the authority of the Commission. He urged them to remain guided by the knowledge gained during their internships and to uphold the Commission\u2019s vision and mission in all aspects of their work. The Commission remains steadfast in its mission to uphold democratic principles and to administer free, fair, and credible elections. By reinforcing its internal capacity, ABEC positions itself to better serve citizens and stakeholders throughout Antigua and Barbuda.  <\/p>\n
