The Director of Public Prosecutions has withdrawn two separate causing death by dangerous driving cases within the past week.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, prosecutors dropped charges against Keithanya Elvin in the High Court. Elvin had been accused in connection with the 2022 death of 16-year-old cyclist Azorae Pennant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred on January 26, 2022, along Tyrell\u2019s main road. Pennant was cycling north shortly before 6:30 p.m. when Elvin, driving a Honda CRV in the opposite direction, attempted to turn right. The teenager reportedly swerved to avoid the vehicle but collided with it, was thrown into the path of an oncoming pickup truck and later died at hospital.<\/p>

Days earlier, prosecutors also withdrew a causing death by dangerous driving charge against a Bendals man linked to a November 14, 2022 motorcycle crash that claimed the life of 23-year-old Annik Lawrence.<\/p>
