Residents in St John\u2019s Rural South are calling for stricter enforcement of noise regulations, saying loud music from nearby bars is disrupting sleep and affecting daily life.<\/p>

Speaking at a town hall meeting, one resident said music was still blaring at 2:30 a.m., warning that chronic lack of rest could affect people\u2019s mental health and job performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another resident, who said she is recovering from surgery and caring for two autistic children, complained that weekend noise often begins as early as 5 p.m. and continues until 3 a.m., even on Sunday nights ahead of the work and school week.<\/p>

Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin and Prime Minister Gaston Browne pledged to involve police to ensure bar operators comply with the law, which requires music to be reduced after 11 p.m. The Prime Minister also urged business owners to be more considerate of residents\u2019 need for rest.<\/p>
