West Indies Sail Heritage Foundation Donates Second Upcycled Plastic Bench to Newfield Primary School<\/strong><\/p>

Antigua and Barbuda – February 2026 – The West Indies Sail Heritage Foundation is proud to announce the donation of a second school bench made entirely from recycled plastic bottle caps to Newfield Primary School, as part of its expanding Ocean Love NO Plastic NO Waste School Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bench donation marks another important milestone in the Foundation\u2019s mission to reduce plastic pollution in Antigua and Barbuda while empowering young people through environmental education and hands-on sustainability initiatives.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Ocean Love NO Plastic NO Waste program is made possible through meaningful collaboration. The workshop was established with funding from the SGP GEF Small Grants Programme, and through the support of the Ambassade de France aupr\u00e8s des \u00c9tats de la Cara\u00efbe Orientale, de la Barbade et de l\u2019OECO en r\u00e9sidence \u00e0 Sainte-Lucie (French Embassy in St. Lucia), the Foundation was able to officially launch the 2026 season of the program.<\/p>

Special thanks are also extended to ABWREC – Antigua and Barbuda Waste Recycling Corporation, which provides the waste plastic materials used to create the upcycled benches and other products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program continues to be delivered free of charge to select public schools across Antigua and Barbuda. Each participating school completes a structured environmental education experience, culminating in the donation of a recycled plastic school bench as a lasting symbol of their commitment to reducing plastic waste.<\/p>

The Foundation donated its first bench on February 9th to the Sea View Farm Primary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
