A committal hearing for a 24-year-old man charged in the death of a visiting Guyanese student has been pushed back as prosecutors await further direction from the Director of Public Prosecutions.<\/p>

Victor Ince of Lightfoot West appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel, who adjourned the matter to March 18 after being told the case file is still under review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ince faces charges of forcible seizure and confinement and unlawful killing stemming from the May 7, 2025 death of 19-year-old Joyleen Abraham, a University of Guyana student.<\/p>

Abraham was found unresponsive on a byroad linking New Winthorpes and Jabberwock and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators allege she exited a vehicle Ince was driving. The vehicle was later seized for forensic examination before charges were filed.<\/p>
