A Better Internet\u201d<\/em>, <\/strong>bringing together cybersecurity leaders, community advocates and executives from across the LLA group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion explored hyperconnectivity, artificial intelligence, human decision-making and the shared responsibility required to create a safer digital environment.<\/p>

\u201cTechnology can be intelligent, but it does not replace judgment,\u201d said Felipe Ruiz, Vice President, Information Security and CISO, Liberty Latin America.<\/p>

\u201cA safer internet begins with people, with the choices we make, the habits we build, and the awareness we share. When individuals understand their role in cybersecurity, communities become stronger and more resilient.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to internal engagement, Liberty Caribbean is once again partnering with schools and community organisations across its markets to deliver education and awareness sessions focused on online safety, data protection, scam awareness and responsible digital behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of early 2026, the Caribbean and Latin America have become a top target for cybercriminals, with organisations facing an average of over 3,000 attacks weekly: a 26% year-over-year surge. Key threats include AI-driven phishing, data-leak extortions and ransomware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
