A jury has found a man guilty of sexually assaulting his 13-year-old cousin after luring her into a car under the pretense of taking her to school in October 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jurors returned unanimous guilty verdicts on charges of serious indecency and indecent assault on Friday, following about 90 minutes of deliberations. The trial began on Jan. 26.<\/p>

Prosecutors told the court that on Oct. 26, 2022, the defendant, then in his early twenties, offered the girl a ride to school, as he had done previously. Instead of driving her directly there, he traveled to several locations with another male cousin in the vehicle.<\/p>

After dropping that passenger off at a market, he drove to an isolated dirt road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There, prosecutors said, the man coerced and physically forced the girl into a sexual act and touched her inappropriately.<\/p>
