More than 100 Ghanaian health professionals have been formally welcomed to Antigua and Barbuda, as part of a move to strengthen the country\u2019s public healthcare system.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At a ceremony on Saturday night attended by Governor General Sir Rodney Williams, senior health officials and members of the diplomatic community, speakers highlighted the historical ties between Africa and the Caribbean. Sir Rodney, a medical doctor, said the arrival of the nurses and health workers symbolised both cooperation and shared heritage, describing the partnership as one built on mutual respect and purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph said the deployment of around 120 professionals was a strategic effort to improve capacity and resilience across hospitals and clinics. He added that the collaboration with Ghana could expand into other areas, including education and trade, while Permanent Secretary Stacey Gregg-Paige assured the group of institutional support as they begin work in the health system.<\/p>
