Across most countries, asylum seekers outnumber those with formal refugee status. Jamaica\u2019s 11,453 total includes 9,176 asylum seekers and 2,277 recognised refugees The Bahamas shows an even wider gap: 2,567 asylum seekers versus 175 refugees. <\/p>
