The Directorate of Gender Affairs has opened nominations for its International Women\u2019s Day 2026 Spotlight Series<\/em>, an initiative aimed at recognising women whose quiet acts of giving have helped to strengthen communities across Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

The series, which carries the theme Give to Gain<\/em>, will focus on female philanthropists whose contributions have often gone unrecognised, despite their impact on vulnerable groups, youth development and community wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Directorate, the programme is designed to shine a light on women who give selflessly, uplift others and create lasting positive change, reinforcing the role of women as key drivers of social progress.<\/p>

Members of the public are being encouraged to nominate women known for outstanding community service, compassionate leadership and a commitment to empowering others. Officials say the initiative is not limited to high-profile donors, but also seeks to honour those whose generosity is expressed through consistent, behind-the-scenes service.<\/p>

The nomination deadline is 18 February 2026, and submissions are open to residents across Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nominations can be submitted online via a designated form, while additional information is available through the Directorate of Gender Affairs by email at gender@ab.gov.ag<\/a><\/strong> or by telephone at 268-560-5207<\/strong>. The Directorate is located on Lower Nevis Street.<\/p>
