Antigua and Barbuda Maps Out 2026 Tourism Push with New Events and Upgrades<\/strong><\/p>

Antigua and Barbuda is rolling out a broad slate of events, experiences and tourism upgrades for 2026, aimed at diversifying its visitor offerings and strengthening its appeal as a leading Caribbean destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a destination update issued Jan. 19, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority outlined a packed calendar of international sporting events, cultural and culinary festivals, new hotel openings and major infrastructure projects.<\/p>

ABTA Chief Executive Officer Colin C. James said the initiatives reflect a focus on quality and authenticity. \u201cAntigua and Barbuda is fully open and welcoming, and for 2026, we are proud to highlight developments and experiences that will deliver more authentic experiences to our visitors, alongside tourism investments that will enhance the quality of our product offerings,\u201d he said.<\/p>

The events calendar opens in April with the inaugural Antigua Racing Cup from April 9\u201312, followed by the AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest on April 11\u201312. May will feature Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month, including Restaurant Week from May 3\u201317 and the FAB \u2013 Food, Art & Beverage Fest on May 23, alongside the 10th anniversary of Run in Paradise. Antigua Carnival is set for July 25 to Aug. 4, while Antigua and Barbuda Art Week will take place in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the accommodation side, boutique luxury property Moon Gate is scheduled to open in 2026, while resorts such as Hermitage Bay and Curtain Bluff have completed refurbishments. New dining and adventure offerings include Fat Urchin in Jolly Harbour Marina and expanded eco-experiences from Rock Adventures.<\/p>

Infrastructure projects are also advancing, including a runway rehabilitation at V.C. Bird International Airport, due for completion in November 2026, and a new cruise terminal at Antigua Cruise Port, opening Jan. 24 with full completion expected in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
