Prime Minister Gaston Browne<\/strong> says economic growth must translate into real benefits for ordinary Antiguans and Barbudans, particularly the poor and most vulnerable, as the country records strong economic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appearing on the Morning Point Show, Browne said the government\u2019s focus is not only on expanding the economy but on ensuring that prosperity is broadly shared. \u201cWe are determined to socialise the economic gains so that everyone benefits, including the poor and the vulnerable,\u201d he said.<\/p>

Browne stressed that headline growth figures mean little if citizens do not feel the impact in their daily lives. \u201cEconomic growth by itself is not enough if people cannot see and feel the benefits,\u201d he told the programme.<\/p>

The prime minister said the administration\u2019s policy approach is aimed at ensuring that development improves living standards across society, rather than concentrating wealth in a narrow segment of the population. \u201cThe objective is to make sure that ordinary people benefit from the growth that is taking place,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His remarks come amid ongoing public discussion about cost-of-living pressures, even as Antigua and Barbuda continues to record strong performance in tourism and related sectors.<\/p>
