governments and citizenship by investment units in Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Dominica have worked closely with international partners since about 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI know for a fact\u2026 that since 20\u2014 there\u2019s been close collaboration with the prime ministers and the heads of the citizenship by investment unit in the five set of reforms aimed at protecting the integrity of the programmes.<\/p><div id=\"antig-891582946\" class=\"antig-content antig-entity-placement\"><a order to enhance the integrity and to protect the citizenship by investment program,\u201d Astaphan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Astaphan said the discussions continued through multiple meetings involving U.S., UK and European Commission officials, including one co-hosted by the U.S. Treasury.<\/p><div id=\"antig-1526114796\" class=\"antig-content_2 antig-entity-placement\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.courts.com\/antigua\/\" aria-label=\"500X500 (1)\"><img changes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He listed the reforms as including \u201cdue diligence,\u201d \u201cresidency,\u201d and \u201cprohibitions against changing your name.\u201d<\/p><div five states in the same month, September 2021,\u201d Astaphan said, adding that \u201cAntigua and Barbuda was the first to go to Parliament to make the changes.\u201d<\/p><div id=\"antig-4251119545\" class=\"antig-content_6 antig-entity-placement\"><a href=\"https:\/\/discoverflow.co\/web\/antigua\" aria-label=\"ANU CVP Digital Broadband 1200x400_1\"><img requirements or name changes, saying those issues were already addressed in legislation developed with international involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese provisions are in the 2025 legislation, with the knowledge of the American Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, because he was at the meeting \u2014 he co-chaired the meeting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Astaphan argued that criticism of the programme reflects a lack of understanding of that history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo anyone \u2014 especially politicians and opposition who are criticizing \u2014 [are] completely ignorant of the history of collaboration with the Americans,\u201d he said, adding they \u201cmissed the Parliament sitting\u2026 and were not aware that the legislation passed in the House to protect the integrity
