Preparations for the upcoming Caribbean Parliamentary Assembly<\/strong> are nearing completion, according to government officials.<\/p>

Addressing questions at Thursday\u2019s post-Cabinet media briefing, Director General of Communications in the Prime Minister\u2019s Office Maurice Merchant said Antigua and Barbuda is ready to host the regional gathering, which is scheduled to take place next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we would have announced last week, preparations are nearing completion,\u201d Merchant said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He said officials have been advised that all major arrangements are in place ahead of the arrival of parliamentarians from across the region.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is anticipated that Caribbean parliamentarians will descend on Antigua and Barbuda for that very important meeting,\u201d Merchant said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Merchant said the update reflects confidence among organizers that the country is prepared to host the assembly.<\/p>

\u201cWe have been told that all is in place for the hosting of that meeting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
