courtesy call meeting with members of United States medical volunteer group, Great Shape! Inc.<\/p>

at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa, ahead of the organization\u2019s upcoming free dental<\/p>\n\n\n\n

clinic, 1000 Smiles that has been coordinated by the Sandals Foundation in collaboration with<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting brought together Minister of Health, the Honourable Sir Molwyn Joseph, key health<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

ministry officials, Great Shape! Inc., leadership, and the Sandals Foundation to reaffirm a shared<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

commitment to improving access to oral healthcare throughout across Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the first time the Great Shape! Inc. Dental team is delivering services in Antigua and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barbuda, marking a major expansion of their regional dental mission which takes place annually<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in Jamaica, The Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Grenada, and Turks and Caicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program Director of Great Shape Inc., Shantelle Senior-Clarke, said the team is pleased to be on<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the ground to deliver much-needed services, including examinations, cleanings, extractions, root<\/p>\n\n\n\n

canals, and other dental treatments based on assessments conducted through the clinic. She also<\/p>\n\n\n\n

praised the Ministry of Health for its unwavering support, highlighting the Ministry\u2019s hands-on<\/p>\n\n\n\n

leadership and guidance, including the coordination of several key logistical arrangements to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ensure the smooth execution and operation of the clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister of Health, the Honourable Sir Molwyn Joseph, welcomed the team and expressed his<\/p>\n\n\n\n

appreciation for the continued partnership. He noted that he is delighted to have Great Shape Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in Antigua and Barbuda and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing community<\/p>\n\n\n\n

health initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For its part, the Sandals Foundation re-affirmed its pride in its longstanding partnership with<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great Shape! team, a collaboration spanning many years and multiple islands across the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

wellbeing of families and the health of a community. We are committed to using the network of<\/p>\n\n\n\n

our resources to continue to bring this primary service to as many residents as is possible,\u201d said<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heidi Clarke, Executive Director of the Sandals Foundation.In Antigua and Barbuda, the Sandals Foundation has committed to supporting Great Shape!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dental\u2019s health outreach initiative through logistical assistance, accommodation support,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

community coordination, and volunteer engagement. These efforts are expected to enable<\/p>\n\n\n\n

hundreds, and potentially thousands, of residents\u2014particularly children, seniors, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

underserved individuals\u2014to receive free, high-quality dental care that might otherwise be out of<\/p>\n\n\n\n

reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandals General Manager, David Latchimy, underscored the resort\u2019s commitment to community<\/p>\n\n\n\n

wellbeing, stating \u201ctrue hospitality extends beyond our resorts and into the communities we<\/p>\n\n\n\n

serve. Supporting free community dental services aligns perfectly with our core values\u2014caring<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for people, empowering communities, and creating lasting positive change. Oral health is a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

critical component of overall health, and the services being offered through this initiative will<\/p>\n\n\n\n

make a meaningful difference in the lives of many individuals and families across Antigua and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barbuda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The free community dental clinic will run from January 19 to January 30 at the Multipurpose<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cultural Center, operating Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pre-registration is<\/p>\n\n\n\n

already underway at the Villa, Glanvilles, Gray\u2019s Farm, Clare Hall, Liberta and Johnson\u2019s Point<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polyclinics and Health Centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the public are strongly encouraged to take advantage of these free dental services<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and may visit any of the listed health facilities to complete the pre-registration forms.<\/p>\n
