The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission<\/a> says it plans to deepen public consultation and engagement with political actors and stakeholders as it explores the continued modernisation of the country\u2019s electoral system.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a New Year\u2019s Day message, Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission<\/strong> Chairman His Excellency Ambassador Arthur G.B. Thomas said the Commission recognises that democratic development is an ongoing process that requires sustained dialogue and participation.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDemocratic consolidation is not a static achievement, but a continuing process,\u201d Thomas said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He said the Commission is committed to fostering \u201cbroader public consultation and deeper engagement with all political actors and stakeholders<\/a>\u201d as it examines opportunities for innovation and modernisation within the electoral system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas noted that such engagement will be critical as the Commission gives \u201cthoughtful consideration of reforms\u201d to ensure that the Representation of the People Act keeps pace with evolving democratic practices, technological advances, and public expectations.<\/p>
