Electoral Commission Urges Voters to Register, Update ID Cards Ahead of 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission<\/a> is urging eligible citizens who are not yet registered <\/a>to do so and is calling on registered voters to ensure their voter identification cards are up to date<\/a>, as it renews its focus on civic participation in the new year.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In a New Year\u2019s Day message, Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission<\/strong> Chairman His Excellency Ambassador Arthur G.B. Thomas <\/a>said active participation remains central to the country\u2019s democratic health.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we move forward, I encourage all eligible citizens who have not yet registered to do so, and I urge registered voters to ensure that their voter identification cards are current,\u201d Thomas said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that informed citizenship and civic education are essential to maintaining confidence in the electoral system, adding that the Commission will continue to place emphasis on those areas.<\/p>

\u201cActive participation, informed citizenship, and civic education remain central to the health and vitality of our democracy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas reaffirmed the Commission\u2019s commitment to working with the public \u201cin a spirit of openness, consultation, and shared responsibility,\u201d as it continues efforts to strengthen democratic institutions and ensure they remain credible and responsive.<\/p>
