The government says work is under way to address safety concerns<\/a> at the site known as the \u201cBig Gutter\u201d<\/a>, following reports from members of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senator Michael Joseph <\/a>said the issue had been brought to the government\u2019s attention and that action was being taken \u201cas quickly as possible\u201d.<\/a><\/p>

As part of the response, the Director of the Ministry of Works, Collis King, carried out a site visit to assess the extent of the problem and determine the repairs required.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to the government, all concrete slabs at the site will be replaced. Cleanup and preparatory work has already started and is expected to continue into the coming week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Joseph said feedback from residents played an important role in highlighting problems on the ground, allowing authorities to respond more effectively when concerns are raised in a constructive manner.<\/p>

He added that the government\u2019s priority was to deliver practical solutions and improve public safety through stronger and more reliable infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
