A 29-year-old Ottos resident who admitted to illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition has been remanded until later this month for sentencing.<\/p>

Otis Jackson pleaded guilty on Monday before Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel to charges stemming from his arrest on December 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said officers on mobile patrol stopped and searched Jackson\u2019s vehicle along Tindale Road around 9 p.m., where they discovered a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol and seven rounds of ammunition.<\/p>

Jackson was taken into custody and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. The weapon, ammunition and his vehicle were seized and taken to Police Headquarters, where they remain.<\/p>
