The Leeward Islands Cricket Board and LI cricketing community today stands in justified pride as six of our young cricketers have been selected to the West Indies 15-man squad for the ICC Men\u2019s Under-19 Cricket World Cup, scheduled to commence on 15 January in Zimbabwe and Namibia.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This level of representation from the Leeward Islands is neither commonplace nor coincidental. It is the result of years of patient development, competitive exposure, and an unwavering belief that talent, when properly guided, will rise to the surface. To see nearly half of the national squad drawn from our territories is a powerful affirmation of the work being done across the Leeward Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selected players are Jewel Andrew, Tanez Francis, Micah McKenzie, and Matthew Miller of Antigua and Barbuda; Isra-el Morton of Sint Maarten; and Kunal Tilokani of St. Kitts. Each has earned his place through performance, discipline, and character, and together they now carry the hopes of their territories onto the world stage.<\/p>

Speaking on the achievement, President of the Leeward Islands Cricket Board, Mr. Enoch Lewis, remarked:<\/p>

The selection of six of our young players to a West Indies World Cup squad speaks volumes about their commitment and about the strength of the systems supporting them. These young men have earned this honour. They represent not only their countries, but the collective progress of cricket across our islands.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection to a West Indies World Cup squad is a great distinction, particularly at the Under-19 level, where the foundation of international careers is laid. It places these players among the most promising young cricketers in the region and entrusts them with the responsibility of representing the West Indies against the best youth sides in the world.<\/p>

The Leeward Islands Cricket Board commends the respective territorial associations, coaches, schools, clubs, and families who have contributed to this achievement.
