A world on the brink<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The leader also described a planet overwhelmed by an unprecedented succession of crises \u2014 geopolitical rivalries and nuclear threats, massive indebtedness, food insecurity\u2026 A series of shocks that \u201cthreatens the ability of states, large or small, to plan for and protect their populations.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He denounced a world order that is \u201cfractured, unstable, dominated by competition among great powers,\u201d with \u201can increasingly blurred line between order and disorder.\u201dFor Gaston Browne, one central question emerges:\u201cWill we allow chaos to define the future of humanity, or will we choose a new order based on peace, justice, and unity?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reminder of collective responsibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister called for a global awakening based on cohesion, solidarity, and more inclusive governance. The goal: restoring global balance.<\/p>

This requires, in his view:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the full and meaningful integration of all countries into financial and trade architectures,<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

real participation of the Global South in international decision-making,<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

a renewed multilateralism,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and a balance between national sovereignty and global responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He insisted on the need to reconcile: competitiveness and cooperation, growth and sustainability, innovation and ethical guarantees, national ambitions and collective vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vulnerabilities of the Global South at the center of concerns<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Gaston Browne sounded the alarm about the plight of island states and developing nations. For him, the world will never be stable as long as half of humanity remains fragile.He recalled the initiative launched by his country before international courts to clarify states\u2019 obligations regarding climate change \u2014 an initiative that \u201cstrengthens the rights of all threatened nations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Caribbean leader criticized an international system that \u201cpunishes the vulnerable\u201d:GDP per capita as a criterion for access to financing \u201cis outdated,\u201d middle-income countries are excluded from concessional loans, and global governance is dominated by a small group of actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called for a deep and urgent reform to move from \u201csymbolic inclusion\u201d to real and equal participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Gaston Browne, the world faces a clear choice:\u201cEither we restore global balance, or we allow instability to reshape the planet.\u201dHe urged a collective leap forward to build shared prosperity and fair governance in the service of humanity and the planet<\/p>\n\n\n\n
