Valley Church Beach Theft: One Man Jailed, Second Cleared<\/strong><\/p>

A man has been jailed for stealing a visitor\u2019s bag at Valley Church Beach, while a second suspect has been cleared of any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Damien Henry, 24, of Bathlodge, was sentenced to 18 months after pleading guilty to larceny before Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel. His co-accused, 20-year-old Terry Williams of Nut Grove, was found not guilty and had all charges withdrawn.<\/p>

The theft occurred on Tuesday afternoon when two visitors reported that their bag had been taken while they were swimming. A witness told security that a man had grabbed the bag and fled in an orange Honda Fit.<\/p>

Officers from the Bolans and Johnson\u2019s Point police stations coordinated the response, intercepting the vehicle in Johnson\u2019s Point a short time later. Both men were detained and the stolen bag, along with all its contents, was recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
