Antigua & Barbuda Art Week 2025<\/a> is here and the brand-new Art & Cultural Village at Julees Restaurant will be an exciting addition to this year\u2019s national celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This outdoor creative space<\/a> is where color, culture, cuisine, and pure imagination collide, creating a vibrant Village of Vibes unlike anything seen before.<\/p>

The Art & Cultural Village will shine a spotlight on artpreneurs\u2014the creative entrepreneurs powering Antigua & Barbuda\u2019s<\/a> cultural economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 25 local and regional artists and artisans<\/a>, will showcase their talents, including oil and acrylic paintings, fiber art, sculpture, handmade fashion, beadwork, jewelry and miniature architectural pieces. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Photography exhibits will pair nostalgia with futuristic vision, while culinary artists serve up Caribbean-inspired brunches, tasting flights, homemade ice cream, confections and the signature hands-on chARTcuterie \u201c paint and sip\u201d workshop. It will be a full sensory experience celebrating creativity, entrepreneurship and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening Night at the Art & Cultural Village will take place under the stars on Thanksgiving evening, Thursday November 27, from 6\u20139 PM, and will double as Julees\u2019 FREE Movie Night. <\/p>

The evening will include a special posthumous tribute to Vaughn Walter, MBE, the cultural architect and festival visionary whose work helped to shape national identity. <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A screening of the movie \u201cOnce In An Island,\u201d featuring Vaughn in a starring role, will anchor the tribute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVaughn\u2019s legacy embodies this year\u2019s theme of our first Art & Cultural Village: A Collision of Color, Culture & Cuisine and in his own iconic words, \u201cYou haffu come,\u201d said Faye Edwards, artist and Chair of the Organizing Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, November 28 Students\u2019 Day, from 9:30\u201311:30 AM, will be led by New Jersey\u2013based Antiguan artist Odessa Whitlock. Students will enjoy tours, art demos and cultural exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young artists from across the nation will compete in \u201cChalk the Village\u201d, transforming the Art & Cultural Village walkways into a massive chalk-art canvas, in a vibrant inter-school competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, the Village will host a free Costume Building Workshop from 4\u20136 PM, followed at 5 PM by Barbuda Eats, featuring a special tapas menu at Julees, prepared by a Barbudan chef.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, November 30, there will be \u201cBrunching with the Arts\u201d from 9 AM to 3 PM, featuring live music, fashion, dance and cultural showcases. Later that afternoon, the signature chARTcuterie Experience invites guests to sip, paint, snack and transform tostones boards into keepsake platters inspired by a four-shade Caribbean lipstick palette \u2014 cocoa brown, tamarind gold, coral mango and guava blush. Cocktails, wines, kombucha, and island bites complete this delicious fusion of art and appetite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
