Prime Minister Gaston Browne says local contractors have credited the Ministry of Public Works with major improvements in fairness, payment timelines, and distribution of work, praising the system as more transparent under Minister Maria Browne.<\/p>

Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show, the prime minister said it was the first time Cabinet held a structured meeting with the country\u2019s top contractors. \u201cI believe it’s the first time that\u2026 cabinet would have met with our top local contractors,<\/strong>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browne said the contractors were clear in their assessment of the ministry\u2019s performance. \u201cThey indicated that the system within Public Works is far more equitable under the current minister. They’re getting more work. They’re getting paid more often.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>

He added that Cabinet members were struck by the strength of the feedback. \u201cWe sat there in awe as a cabinet, hearing them giving testimony to what is happening today compared to many years ago.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>
