Police Investigate Fatal Collision on Friar\u2019s Hill Road<\/em><\/p>

St. John\u2019s, Antigua and Barbuda Friday, November 21, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Police are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night along Friar\u2019s Hill Road in the vicinity of the Sir Wright F. George Police Training Academy.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The collision involved a silver Audi motor car A7346 and a brown horse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle was travelling from south to north along Friars Hill Road at a high rate of speed, when it collided with the horse, causing the driver to momentarily lose control. Both the driver and his passenger sustained injuries during the impact.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A 40-year-old male from Hodges Bay, who was a passenger of the vehicle later succumbed to his injuries.The animal also died at the scene.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

EMS personnel transported the driver of the vehicle to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was treated for head injuries and remains in stable condition. A medical doctor pronounced the man dead 12:54 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scene was processed by the Forensic Investigations Unit, and the wrecked vehicle was taken to Police Headquarters. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Police continue to urge all motorists to exercise extreme caution when driving at night and to be mindful of stray animals on the nation\u2019s roadways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
