The Regional Security System Training Institute (RSS TI) has successfully completed a Criminal Investigation Course designed to boost the region\u2019s ability to investigate and manage serious and complex crimes. The intensive programme brought together law enforcement officers from across Member States for hands-on instruction in modern investigative techniques and professional case management.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Developed to strengthen core competencies in major crime investigations, the course covered evidence gathering, crime scene management, interviewing techniques, analytical thinking, and leadership. Participants also explored best practices in inter-agency collaboration and decision-making\u2014key elements in delivering consistent, high-quality investigative outcomes across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coordinated by Assistant Superintendent Cecil Watson, the course was facilitated by retired Canadian detectives Alan Cooke and Zaia Lazar, contracted through Georgian College. Their extensive international experience added significant value to the training.<\/p>

During the closing ceremony, RSS Deputy Executive Director Mr. Atlee Rodney commended officers for their commitment and urged them to apply their new skills to improve investigative standards within their agencies. EU Attach\u00e9 Mr. Alessandro Tedesco reaffirmed the European Union\u2019s support for regional security, noting that the programme was funded under the 11th European Development Fund.<\/p>

Assistant Commissioner of Police Jefferson Clarke of The Barbados Police Service delivered the Feature Address, congratulating participants and encouraging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certificates were presented to mark the officers\u2019 successful completion of the course, symbolizing their readiness to take on expanded investigative responsibilities.<\/p>
