Police Provide Update for Denial of UPP Request for Whistle Stop in Rural East<\/em><\/p>

St. John\u2019s, Antigua and Barbuda, Wednesday, 12th November 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Police Administration has denied a request from the United Progressive Party (UPP) to host a whistle stop activity within the Constituency of Rural East.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The decision follows careful consideration of several operational factors, particularly the time of day proposed, which coincides with a period of heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic, among other security issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the request for the whistle stop was declined, the Police Administration has granted permission for a motorcade to be held on Sunday, 16th November 2025, based on a prior application submitted by the party. Formal communication confirming this approval was issued to the General Secretary of the United Progressive Party on Tuesday, 11th November 2025.<\/p>
