Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s own Soca Queen, Claudette \u201cCP\u201d Peters, was honoured by the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Toronto for her 25-year contribution to music, culture, and service during the organization\u2019s 44th Independence Dinner and Dance.<\/p>

Held on November 8, 2025, at the Toronto Grand Convention Centre, the signature event brought together members of the Antiguan and Barbudan diaspora and friends in Canada for an evening of national pride and cultural celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peters, backed by the Disturbance Band, headlined the entertainment lineup, which also featured performances by Drastic, Menace, Island Prince, and Soca Villain \u2014 the 2025 Carnival Road March champion.<\/p>

In a statement shared on social media, Peters expressed her gratitude for the recognition, saying it was \u201ctruly an honour to be appreciated for what I do,\u201d and thanked the Association for acknowledging her 25-year journey in music.<\/p>

The event, presented in collaboration with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority\u2019s Canada Office, also featured remarks from Director of Tourism Tameka Wharton and Association President Selma Alincy, who both highlighted the importance of maintaining strong cultural ties with the diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wharton said the Tourism Authority was pleased to sponsor the entertainment for a second consecutive year, emphasizing the value of showcasing Antiguan and Barbudan talent to international audiences.<\/p>

The formal program also included a keynote address by Khan Cordice, Director of Culture and arranger for the Hell\u2019s Gate Steel Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests were treated to an elegant evening of live music, fine dining, and national pride, marking 44 years of Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s independence in grand style.<\/p>
