The case commonly referred to as \u201cthe Beach Case\u201d<\/em> has been adjourned once again, following proceedings this morning at the St John\u2019s Magistrate\u2019s Court.<\/p>

Defence attorney Mr. Boing<\/strong> confirmed that he raised concerns before the magistrate regarding what he described as \u201ccertain defects\u201d in the case file. However, the court decided to proceed with hearing witnesses before considering those issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI pointed out to the court certain defects in the file,\u201d Mr Boing explained. \u201cThe magistrate said that while those defects may exist, he would prefer to hear the witnesses, as their testimony could cure them. He will only rule on my submission after hearing the evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The matter has been adjourned until 12 December 2025<\/strong>, when the prosecution\u2014led by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions\u2014is expected to present its witnesses and evidence.<\/p>

Speaking outside the court, political commentator George Wehner<\/strong>, who has been closely following the case, expressed frustration at the repeated delays.<\/p>

Wehner also reflected on broader issues of justice, referencing the Small Charges Act<\/em>\u2014a colonial-era law he argued was originally designed to control emancipated Africans after slavery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThose laws criminalised ordinary actions\u2014like walking on a neighbour\u2019s land or picketing,\u201d he said. \u201cNow, even after independence, we still use them to control the same people they were meant to oppress.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Beach Case<\/em>\u2014so named due to its alleged connection to an incident on a local beach\u2014has attracted public attention for months, with supporters of the defendants calling for transparency and fairness in the proceedings.<\/p>
