In a statement issued on Friday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed Washington\u2019s commitment to strengthening ties with St John\u2019s, highlighting cooperation on regional security and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe United States values our partnership with Antigua and Barbuda in advancing regional security through continued cooperation to stem the flow of illegal guns and drugs, counter illegal immigration, and disrupt transnational criminal networks,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>

Rubio cited initiatives such as the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative as key areas of collaboration, noting that both nations are working to \u201cstrengthen border security and safeguard our citizens.\u201d<\/p>
