The Summit, convened under the theme \u201cRenewing the Social Contract: Equity, Inclusion, and Resilience for a Sustainable Future,\u201d<\/em> will bring together Heads of State, Foreign Ministers, and global leaders to reaffirm the world\u2019s commitment to people-centred development \u2014 thirty years after the landmark Copenhagen Declaration.<\/p>

In his address to the plenary, Minister Greene will call for renewed global solidarity<\/strong> and justice-based partnerships<\/strong> to confront the interconnected crises of climate change, debt, and inequality<\/strong>. He will emphasize that for Small Island Developing States (SIDS)<\/strong>, the climate crisis is an \u201cexistential reality,\u201d<\/em> warning that hurricanes can erase in hours what took decades to build.<\/p>

Minister Greene will highlight the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS)<\/strong> as a new global blueprint for \u201cresilient prosperity\u201d<\/em> and will urge the international community to adopt the Multidimensional Vulnerability Index (MVI)<\/strong> to ensure fairer access to finance for vulnerable nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He will also spotlight Antigua and Barbuda\u2019s national progress in social protection, education, and youth empowerment<\/strong>, noting that programmes such as the People\u2019s Benefit Programme<\/strong> and School Meals Initiative<\/strong> continue to uphold dignity and opportunity for all citizens.<\/p>
