 Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett has recognised the consistent and focused efforts Dominica has made towards achieving its development objectives.

In a congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica to mark the country\u2019s Forty-Seventh Anniversary of Independence today, Monday 3 November, Dr Barnett also commended its continued dedication to the regional integration movement.

\u201cConsistent with your responsibility for Labour (including Intra-Community Movement of Skills) in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet, Dominica has demonstrated great leadership in moving to implement full freedom of movement as of 1 October 2025. This undertaking stands as an historic milestone in the achievement of our collective goal of integration,\u201d Dr. Barnett stated.

The Secretary-General\u2019s full message reads as follows:

\u201c<\/em><\/a>Prime Minister<\/em>

On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I am pleased to extend congratulations to the Government and People of the Commonwealth of Dominica as you celebrate your Forty-Seventh Anniversary of Independence.<\/em>

This year\u2019s theme, \u201c47 Years of Progress and Purpose\u201d, aptly captures the consistent and focused efforts the nation has made towards achieving its development objectives and in promoting sustainable development.<\/em>

The Community commends Dominica\u2019s continued dedication to the regional integration movement. Consistent with your responsibility for Labour (including Intra-Community Movement of Skills) in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet, Dominica has demonstrated great leadership in moving to implement full freedom of movement as of 1 October 2025. This undertaking stands as an historic milestone in the achievement of our collective goal of integration.<\/em>
