LIAT Air<\/a> has confirmed that it is fully prepared to resume operations into Jamaica<\/a>, expressing solidarity with passengers and communities affected by the devastation <\/a>caused by Hurricane Melissa<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement issued Wednesday, the airline said it stands \u201cin solidarity with you during this challenging time\u201d and remains committed to supporting recovery efforts across the island.<\/p>

LIAT said it is awaiting final clearance from the Jamaican authorities, who are conducting a comprehensive assessment of the damage caused by the hurricane. Flight operations will resume as soon as officials confirm that it is safe to do so.<\/p>

Acknowledging that many travelers have faced disruptions since the storm, the airline appealed for patience as it works with the relevant authorities to restore service safely and responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a show of support, LIAT announced that it will offer one free checked bag to all passengers traveling to Jamaica for one week<\/strong> following the resumption of service. The initiative aims to assist those delivering relief supplies to relatives and friends in need.<\/p>
