In a public message shared on Monday, Pringle offered words of comfort and faith, urging Jamaicans to take safety precautions while trusting in God\u2019s protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmidst the impending effects of Hurricane Melissa, remember that God remains your shelter and refuge from any storm,\u201d Pringle said. \u201cOur hearts and prayers are with you. Please stay safe and look out for one another.\u201d<\/p>

The United Progressive Party (UPP) leader also extended his thoughts to Jamaicans residing in Antigua and Barbuda, many of whom have made the country their second home. \u201cWe also lift you, your families and friends up in our prayers,\u201d he added.<\/p>

Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, is forecast to bring catastrophic winds, flooding and storm surge to Jamaica and parts of the northern Caribbean. Authorities across the region have urged residents to seek shelter and follow all emergency advisories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pringle\u2019s message comes as Caribbean leaders and citizens rally together in prayer and support for Jamaica during what forecasters describe as one of the most dangerous storms in recent history.<\/p>
