In an inspiring display of community support, the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre\u2019s (SLBMC) annual PINKparty raised record funds to support cancer care and early detection.<\/p>

To date, \ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf2 \ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfa<\/a>\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf4\ud835\uddfb \ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude00 \ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf1 \ud835\uddfc\ud835\ude03\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddff $\ud835\udff3\ud835\udfec,\ud835\udfec\ud835\udfec\ud835\udfec \ud835\uddeb\ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddd7, surpassing organizers\u2019 expectations. Now in its 12th year, the PINKparty continues to bring together individuals, organizations, and businesses united by one cause\u2014to strengthen breast cancer care and help the hospital acquire a new mammogram system valued at approximately $250,000 USD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLike other public institutions, we face mounting budget constraints; yet the urgency of breast cancer\u2014its prevention, detection, and treatment\u2014cannot wait,\u201d said \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddee \ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddfd, \ud835\udde6\ud835\udddf\ud835\uddd5\ud835\udde0\ud835\uddd6 \ud835\udddb\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf1 \ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf3 \ud835\udde0\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf8\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf4 & \ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddfa\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude00. \u201cAnything we can do to enhance the care we provide can\u2019t come fast enough\u2014for patients, for their loved ones, and for us. That includes ensuring we have a reliable mammogram service.<\/p>

Over the years, we\u2019ve heard countless stories from families, friends, and colleagues affected by this disease\u2014and that shared urgency is what unites us.<\/p>

This year, we had the most group registrations ever\u2014that\u2019s urgency uniting. We raised the most funds ever\u2014that\u2019s urgency uniting. And we\u2019re determined to raise what it takes to purchase that mammogram system\u2014because that\u2019s the urgent need. We\u2019re this far ahead because of the incredible support of our community\u2014and we\u2019re deeply grateful for it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
