The UWI Global Campus to Celebrate Class of 2025<\/strong> in Virtual Graduation Ceremony<\/strong><\/p>

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Global Campus is set to celebrate the achievement of its Class of 2025 in a Virtual Ceremony on Saturday, November 08, 2025, at 6:00 pm EC via UWItv.global<\/a>,\u00a0UWItv\u2019s Facebook Live<\/a>,\u00a0Flow EVO channels<\/a>, and Flow\u2019s Bluu mobile app.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s graduation theme, \u201cPelicans in an AI-Driven Future \u2013 Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow,\u201d fittingly represents the Class of 2025. Having embarked on their studies during a time of rapid digital transformation, these graduates have emerged as resilient and forward-thinking leaders, equipped to steer the Caribbean confidently into a technology-driven future.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s Graduation will mark the third under The UWI Global Campus brand and will celebrate the achievements of 1,268 graduands (219 postgraduates and 1,046 undergraduates) who make up the Class of 2025. These graduands have successfully completed programmes leading to Doctorates, Master\u2019s, Bachelor\u2019s, and Associate degrees, as well as Certificates and Diplomas across several disciplines. The 2025 graduating class represents the largest in the history of the Campus and includes the first PhD graduand. As in past years, graduands from across the Caribbean will join in the virtual celebration by hosting watch parties with family and friends to cheer them on as their names are called and their photos appear on screen.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As is customary for these ceremonies, Heads of State and Government; the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor; members of the University\u2019s Executive Management; other senior University and government officials; the Campus\u2019 Senior Management Team, as well as family and friends of the graduands, will tune in to watch as the latter are acknowledged for their achievements and are awarded their formal academic qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this year\u2019s ceremony, the Campus will confer an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) degree on Sir Calixte George, a distinguished Saint Lucian agronomist, educator, agricultural researcher, and statesman whose career has been marked by exceptional contributions to science, governance, and regional development.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The Valedictorian for the Class of 2025 is Mr Alex Anderson, an educator from the beautiful island of Jamaica who is graduating with a BEd in Educational Leadership and Management with First Class Honours. He currently works as a primary school educator who has consistently cultivated confidence, curiosity, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

academic success among his students. In keeping with tradition, Mr Anderson will deliver the Valedictory Speech on behalf of his fellow graduates from across the Region.<\/p>

Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Francis O. Severin, in extending hearty congratulations to the graduands and their families, points out that graduation ceremonies are the \u201c\u2026visual of our work and represent our raison d’\u00eatre<\/em>. The imagery of people from all walks of life graduating in different disciplines and at various levels is a formidable representation of access and empowerment. The Global Campus and its predecessors have been engaged in this Caribbean development thrust for a long time, taking education to the people without them having to come physically to us. Conveniently sitting with their respective communities and savouring their ceremonies with those who have supported them and those who wish them well, is a powerful and unequivocal statement of reaching and touching those who were left behind before, especially in the Eastern Caribbean.\u201d<\/p>

<\/a>The official Presentation of Graduates Ceremony will close with the new graduates repeating The UWI Alumni Pledge and a musical rendition of the University song, \u201cThere is a Light\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
