Attorney General and Minister of National Security Sir Steadroy \u201cCutie\u201d Benjamin<\/strong> says Antigua and Barbuda remains the safest country in the region, boasting the lowest crime rate among its Caribbean neighbors.<\/p>

Speaking Thursday night at a town hall meeting in Seaview Farm<\/strong>, held for All Saints West MP Hon. Anthony Smith Jr.<\/strong>, Benjamin credited strong policing and community partnerships for maintaining public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDespite all the talks that have been said, Antigua and Barbuda is the safest country in this part of the hemisphere. We have the lowest crime rate, the lowest crime rate for civil offenses, and that cannot be challenged,\u201d Benjamin told the audience.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He encouraged residents to take a proactive stance against crime by forming neighbourhood watch groups, staying alert, and reporting suspicious activity.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m asking you, please, to organize yourselves into neighborhood watches,\u201d he said. \u201cLook and see if there are any strange persons in the community. Get groups organized. When you see a strange person, call your neighbor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benjamin also announced that the government plans to increase police patrols<\/strong> and install additional streetlights<\/strong> in areas such as Bellevue Estate<\/strong> to enhance visibility and deter criminal activity.<\/p>

The Attorney General praised MP Smith for his \u201clove for people and dedication to community development,\u201d noting his advocacy for young people and ongoing collaboration with national security officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The town hall, which drew a large turnout from All Saints West, featured presentations from senior members of the Cabinet, including Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph, who provided updates on government projects in the constituency.<\/p>
