Opposition MP Richard S. Lewis has called for an independent investigation into what Prime Minister Gaston Browne recently described as \u201csystemic corruption\u201d in Antigua and Barbuda, warning that graft is eroding the country\u2019s integrity and development.<\/p>

Lewis said corruption \u201cundermines the integrity of a nation and stymies development,\u201d adding that those involved are \u201cdishonest, deceitful, and rotten,\u201d while anyone who turns a blind eye is equally culpable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged the government to act decisively through effective legislation and enforcement, stressing that corruption should never be normalized.<\/p>
